There are several styles of adjusting within the chiropractic profession and this can be confusing sometimes to someone new to the chiropractic experience. There is one thing that should be clear, however, and that is the goal of the adjustment. The goal of a chiropractic adjustment is to restore a subluxated/misaligned spine to its proper motion/alignment thereby removing stress to the central nervous system.

1. Print of one of our colouring sheets and have the kids colour them. The kids can either bring their creation in to the clinic for us to see in person (we will be putting them up for everyone to see), or you can take a picture of it and send it to us by email at familyfirstwpg@gmail.com. This corrective process is called a spinal adjustment. The chiropractic adjustment is a specific application of a gentle force utilized to correct subluxations.

In simplest terms, a subluxation is when one or more of the bones of your spine move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.
