The word chiropractic comes from a combination of the Greek words "chiro" and "praktikis", meaning "done by the hand". Chiropractors provide specialized "hands-on" treatment of the spine, muscles and joints of the body. Chiropractic is a healing discipline, we follow constantly evolving current evidence based best practices.

X-rays can play an important role in diagnosis and are recommended when a need has been determined after taking a patient case history and conducting a physical examination. Chiropractors receive extensive education in radiology covering a full range of topics from X-ray protection to interpretation and diagnosis.

Massage therapy is the assessment and manipulation of the body's soft tissues and is one of the oldest medical practices to date, going back to ancient times. Physical manipulation of the bodies musculature can help with aches and pains, improve circulation and help decrease firing of the sympathetic nervous system AKA "stress".

People call me *Dr Wilson*, *Dr Wong* or simply *Wilson*. My post-secondary adventures include a Combined Honours in Biology and Neuroscience from Dalhousie University and a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in England. I returned to my hometown of Halifax to practice and to be close to family and I've been happily helping patients feel better since 2012.

I'm that lovely voice you sometimes get greeted with when you call in to make an appointment with us, otherwise you get the infamous Dr Wilson Wong. I'm a Certified Laser Therapist, a Continuing Care Assistant and I also have my Level 1 in Usui Reiki Energy Healing. I love to help others and in being a part of Eaglewood Chiropractic Health Centre I get to do just that.
