Ocea was amazing! The first time I tried short hair was a nightmare due to the style but Ocean chopped off over a foot of hair and gave me an amazing cut that I absolutely love. Friendly, welcoming, and professional.

I started going to Violet Lounge a year ago when I moved to Nanaimo because they had online booking. I continued going because of the atmosphere, the location, and most of all because of my stylist Ocea. Not only is she an absolute delight, she knows how to cut my terribly thin, fine hair. 10/10 recommend Ocea and Violet Lounge.

The stylist I saw didnt know how to texturize and thin the ends of my thick hair into a straight across cut so it didnt look blunt and bulky on the ends. Ive had this done well by many stylists in my day, so I would say she was lacking skills even though I asked to see a master stylist. Im not happy with my cut. UPDATE: I work long hours during the week, and when I asked for another stylist or the owner to come do a corrective cut on the weekend, they refused saying I could only get it corrected by Mary, the one who cut it in the first place, or come in on a weekday. Violet Hair Lounge is literally the best hair salon in Nanaimo! Summer did my hair and I am so pleased with the results! I got baby lights / balayage and a trim. I am extremely picky with how my hair is done, and am usually never satisfied with the results, but with Summers work I was pleasantly surprised! She was so personable and we talked the whole time which is also a rarity for me while getting my hair done.
