In 1993 a group of investors led by Dougal Shewan met to discuss establishing a new venture to offer alternative mortgage financing - a Mortgage Investment Corporation. The group raised $350,000 by the end of the meeting which ultimately led to the formation of VWR Capital Corp.
From that initial investment, VWR now has a portfolio of over $360 million in mortgages under administration across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.We take our responsibility to our shareholders very seriously. You can submit using Filogix, Velocity, Lendesk, Finmo, or you can do so by emailing the mortgage application, credit bureau and current appraisal to our underwriting team. With basic lending fees at $750 for first mortgages and $500 for second or third mortgages, you have the ability to structure winning deals for your clients.

A Mortgage Investment Corporation (MIC) is an investment vehicle that enables investors to invest in a pool of Canadian mortgages. MICs are established under the Canadian Income Tax Act. A MIC pools investors' funds and then selects mortgages to purchase with these funds. A MIC is a flow-through investment vehicle and distributes 100% of its net income to its shareholders.
