Vor Physiotherapy
The clinic was started by Matthew and Gaetanne Aggerholm, a husband and wife team, who are both Registered Physiotherapists. In 2004, Matthew chose to study abroad in Australia to complete his Masters of Physiotherapy, and Gaetanne was more than happy to enjoy the time in Australia! Gaetanne grew up in Kitchener and upon returning from Australia, they settled here to raise their children and be close to family.

We have happily lived in Waterloo for over 15 years. After 10 years of experience working in private Physiotherapy clinics together, Matthew and Gaetanne identified a significant need for vestibular/vertigo help for people in our community. As we began treating patients with dizziness, we quickly discovered a connection with the jaw and neck.

Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction
Report
The temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) is the joint directly in front of the ear canal on either side of the head. The TMJ, which opens 2,000 - 3,000 times per day, is the most frequently used joint in the body. It is used for functions like talking, chewing, swallowing, or yawning.

The temporomandibular joint is complex and is composed of muscles, tendons, bones and a disc sitting between the bones of the skull (temporal bone) and the jawbone (mandible).Did you know the upper neck is a very intricate part of the jaw complex as well and is often involved in ongoing symptoms? Many of our jaw patients complain of neck pain or stiffness.
Post-Concussion Management
Report
A concussion is a type of mild traumatic brain injury. A concussion can be caused by a DIRECT blow to the head or an INDIRECT blow to the body. A concussion can result from a car accident, a fall, or a sport injury. Current research is unsure exactly what happens to the cells of the brain during a concussion; but the best theory is there is a change in chemical function of the brain that affects how the brain works.
Massage Therapy
Report
Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue, and scar tissue to improve overall function of the affected areas. Massage Therapy is a non-invasive way of treating dysfunction and pain, and can promote healing, relaxation, and overall well-being.
Athletic Therapy
Report
Athletic Therapists (AT) are experts in the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries to muscles, joints, and bones. They are best known for providing on-site, emergency care to professional and amateur athletes in their given sport, and are often seen on the sidelines or running out on the playing surface to help athletes.
Pain Management – MPS and Acupuncture
Report
The art and science of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) still continues to astound and bewilder us, even thousands of years after it is thought to have begun. Western medicine continues to research and further understand the physiological effects and benefits of acupuncture points. There are several options at VOR for the treatment of pain and symptoms with acupuncture.
