This appointment is for those clients that require additional scaling in order to maintain good oral health. It will be suggested by your dental hygienist if you require 3, 4 or 6 month intervals. Complete with full mouth scaling, probing of pocket depths, oral hygiene instruction and a complementary selective polish.

Gingivitis

It is due to the body fighting an infection caused by bacteria in the tissues surrounding the teeth. If you have gingivitis, you will most likely notice bleeding or painful gums when brushing and/or flossing. If left untreated it can lead to periodontitis and other health concerns. Halitosis or bad breath is the condition where an unpleasant odour emanates from the mouth. Symptoms of halitosis are typically manifested in social situations. People backing away when you're talking to them, or repositioning themselves beside you instead of in front of you, are good cues. Loved ones not interested in kissing can also be a cue.
