Huatuo Clinic is the onsite Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine practice and research clinic. Dr. Benny Xu, acupuncturist, was born in a family of Chinese medicine practitioners and is the founder and Executive Director of the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM).
As a distinguished acupuncturist, and a recipient of the Alberta Centennial Medal for his outstanding services and contributions to the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine and training in Alberta, Dr. Xu was an instrumental part in transforming the acupuncture profession from 'Alberta Labour' to 'Alberta Health' in the early 1990s.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Graduates (full-time students) will receive a Diploma in Acupuncture at the end of the 3rd year and may proceed to the licensing process thereafter. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) approaches health and illness fundamentally differently from modern medicine (Western medicine), it is not only documented as the oldest medicine, but it has also always been part of the primary health care system In China throughout history.

Take your diploma to the next level with our upgrading program. With your accredited diploma, you could receive a Bachelor's Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine in 1-2 years. The candidates will be assessed individually for flexible timelines and schedules.
International Acupuncture Foundation Program

The International Acupuncture Foundation Program (IAFP) is a program designed for international students who have demonstrated the educational proficiency and qualifications needed for an administration to our school, excluding the requirements to a certain level of credentials in English. This program is designed to prepare students to successfully complete our diploma studies in Acupuncture.
