Tmj
Report
Both sides of your jaw have a joint called the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ). Pain and other issues that arise in the TMJ are called Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD). Here at Pitt meadows Physiotherapy Clinic, we specialize in TMJ problems and solutions. There are many reasons why you may develop TMJ Dysfunction.
Laser Therapy
Report
Laser therapy is a non-invasive and pain-free form of therapy that uses light energy targeted at inflamed and injured tissues. Healing is accelerated by stimulating ATP production within the cells, which in turn speeds up cell regeneration and alleviates a lot of scar tissue that gets produced. We use a Theralase Laser that penetrates into deeper tissue allowing us to treat areas in the body that are more stubborn to reach.
Pre/Post- Rehab
Report
Pre surgical rehab (prehab) is vital to positive outcomes before and after surgery. Having full range of motion and good strength around your knee and hip before surgery will result in better surgical outcomes and may speed up your post surgical recovery time.

Our physiotherapists will be happy to book an appointment with you to determine a baseline of information about your general state of health and abilities, muscle strength, functional mobility, and much more.
Sports Therapy
Report
Sports therapy is a practice that incorporates sports and exercise into a patient's rehabilitation program to improve overall physical health. Sports Therapy is not restricted to only athletes but also adults, students and all types of people can benefit from Sports Therapy depending on their condition.
Manual Therapy
Report
Manual therapy refers to any and all forms of "hands-on" treatment provided by a Physiotherapist (or other trained professional) with the intent of restoring range of motion, modulating pain, changing muscle function, or to reduce soft tissue swelling, inflammation, or movement restrictions.

This can include the movement of specific joints to restore movement, passive movements, muscle stretching, myofascial release techniques, resisted movement, and muscle energy techniques to encourage proper muscle activation and timing.
