At Spark Psychology we provide knowledgeable and caring support to children and youth experiencing educational, cognitive, or social-emotional challenges. We apply positive, strength based strategies that help your family work toward specific outcomes. The first step is to identify a child or young adult's academic, cognitive, or emotional strengths and areas of need.

As we learn more about the child or young adult, we can better understand what they need to feel successful at school and home. Supporting parents seeking knowledge and strategies to work with their children more effectively.

Educational Assessment
Report
Psychoeducational assessment is often recommended by school staff or family health care workers to explore possible barriers to a child or young adult's ability to succeed at school. Alternatively, a child may demonstrate exceptional strengths or unique abilities in learning. Developmental Concerns: delays in fine or gross motor skills, language, social skills, or cognitive development.
Autism Assessment
Report
Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) encompass a broad range of needs and strengths in children. Challenges with social interaction and social communication skills are the hallmarks of this disorder. Differentiating ASD from other possible presenting issues can be difficult. At Spark Psychology, we have specialized training in the identification and diagnosis of ASD.
Therapy
Report
At Spark Psychology, we offer individual therapy to provide strategies for children and young adults seeking support to cope with challenges in their lives. Goals and a specific focus for therapy will be identified with the child and their caregivers. Cognitive-behavioral, relationship building and attachment based techniques will be used as part of therapeutic intervention.
Parental Support
Report
We encourage a team approach to working with children and teens. Therapy with young people is most effective if their parents or caregivers are actively involved. At Spark Psychology, parents and family members can access parenting strategies, behavioural management techniques, and emotional support for their own needs in parenting a child with specific challenges.
