The youngest of five children, by some 15 years, and alone with his mother, Ali Behmard got to high school and dropped out. He headed to the U.S. to learn a trade he thought would provide a good living: auto mechanic. When Ali learned that there would be AirCare regulations in BC, he moved back home to be at the front of the hiring line.
