Peter and Kathy are great hosts. Spent the weekend. They were helpful and very accommodating. Rooms are comfortable and clean and had everything we required. Great bbq area were we enjoyed good food with good friends. Booked for next year before we left.

What a strange vacation at the Poplars Motel this year, which is under new management and relatively new ownership. I'm still shaking my head about it. Apparently the wrong layout of beach chairs is enough to be told you aren't welcome back. And don't dare to question the rationale or you will be told to read the Hotel Act. I was shocked, angry, frustrated and finally just felt pity for the lack of business sense. You'd think you'd want to retain a loyal 14 year customer base. Oh well, after adding up the costs (including outrageous rate increase) it's cheaper to book a cruise!

New owners have changed what used to be a cherished vacation. My family have been coming to Poplars for at least 20 years and I came here often when I was a child. The rooms have always been shabby but the fun and the previous hosts Cindy and Frank are wonderful, welcoming people. The new hosts are difficult. They also have a new 1 year cancellation policy, pay upfront for 1 day for the next year and if you have to cancel you lose your money. If you are staying for 2 weeks you pay 2 days in advance and lose your twice the money. This seems crazy given the fact that many of the summer customer base

Brought my children to stay for 10 days this summer. Reasonable rates and the room was large and clean with all of the necessities. Loungers on the sand, BBQs and picnic tables on a grassy area by the beach that is well kept. Staff were so friendly and hard working! Glad I found this cute motel on the water and already booked in for next year! Thanks for the great holiday!
