When we were looking for photographers, what we saw was either really candid photo-journalism, or very posed and elegant. I asked myself: why can't we have both?! This is when Luminous was born. Most couples are worried their photos will look posed or inauthentic. At Luminous Weddings, if a photo doesn't feel REAL, it's not truly beautiful.

For the entire week leading up to the wedding, the bride and groom are traditionally considered and treated as a king and queen. Similar to how royalty has guards with them at all times, it's said that the bride and groom should always be with a friend or family member with a designated shomeret for a woman, and a shomer for a man.

They were an absolute dream team at our wedding. They are relaxed, professional and approachable. They captured every detail of our wedding and had smiles on their faces throughout a very long (14 hour!) day. Ryan was so patient throughout our planning process - he answered every e-mail fast and scouted locations for perfect shots in advance of our wedding.

It's not often that as a wedding photographer you get to see what you do through new eyes. Sam is actually my cousin, I used to babysit her and make sure she brushed her teeth before bed. To see her getting married is a total trip, but more so than that to be part of. We were so excited to have Chantelle and Leon's wedding featuring in WedLuxe Magazine!

What can I say about this gorgeous couple? I met Sara and Jon last year ago when we shot their engagement session in Yorkville during the fall season.
