Report
I am a 1993 Ontario Veterinary College graduate, and have been working at Ostrander since then. My husband and I have two beautiful, active sons, as well as three dogs and a horse. In my spare time, when I'm not tending to them, I enjoy traveling, reading, biking and gardening. I have been a part of Ostrander Veterinary Clinic since 1995, first as a co-op student and then as summer help.
Facility/Clinic Tour
Report
Are you new to our practice? Or are you a current client who would like to see what the rest of the building looks like? Here's a tour, along with some information about our facility. We will start with the outside of our clinic! We are located on Hwy 19, within an easy drive of many communities.
We have a large paved parking lot and are surrounded by a maintained lawn that includes several shade trees if you choose to spend some time outside during your visit. We have a large reception area that allows more than enough room for our patients to wait comfortably. This area is quite spacious to allow for ample space between patients that are wary of other animals.

Health
Report
Chewing and mouthing a a natural part of a dog's learning and socialization, but destructive chewing can be concerning and should not be ignored. Inappropriate elimination is a common and often frustrating problem for owners of both cats and dogs. Why do they do this? How can we help? Due to the extreme social and structure pack nature of a dog, their ability to form very strong bonds with family members can sometimes lead to separation anxiety.
Nutrition
Report
Nutrition is an important part of keeping your pet happy and healthy. Every pet has different requirements for activity, growth and play. To fulfill these requirements the food must be palatable, and contain the proper nutrients to meet the daily energy requirements. Usually a dry food is best, while table scraps are definitely not recommended.
Internal Parasites
Report
Heartworm is a parasite that is carried and transferred by mosquitoes, and is therefore a threat to our pets in areas where there are mosquitoes. This is a parasite that lives in the bloodstream of animals and matures in the heart as an adult worm. These parasites mainly affect dogs, but have also rarely been found in cats.
