Bloor West Music Studios

Wife and husband team Karen and Doug Hibovski started Bloor West Music Studios in 1990 with the hope of sharing their love of music within their community of Bloor West Village. Over time they have built a team of talented music teachers who share their vision, working one-on-one with students to develop their artistic expression, laying the foundation for years of musical enjoyment.

Our goal is to associate music with fun and thereby create a strong positive influence in the minds of young learners. Our teachers create an upbeat and positive atmosphere. They are also highly educated. We guide students through the foundations of music into many other areas such as learning different styles of music, preparing for a Royal Conservatory exam, developing listening skills and learning how to create music in various ways.

Learning music is fun in the exciting atmosphere of our studio. We have cool teachers who contribute to this upbeat atmosphere with their positive attitudes and love of teaching. Lessons cover the foundations of music. We teach many styles of music, from classical to modern forms such as pop, rock, jazz, blues and broadway; and we can teach music by function, as in learning to play background rhythms or foreground leads and soloing.

At Bloor West Music Studios we have a large number of adult students. Many adults come to continue their musical journeys or to resume learning an instrument they had played previously or in their youth. Others come to learn music for the first time. You may recently have had the desire to learn music and experience the joys of participating in this great artistic endeavour.
