Testimonials
Report
My floors look wonderful, way beyond what I had hoped for. The bit by the balcony is 100% better too. Thanks again to Kyle for a job well-done & for leaving the keys, and to Stefanie for your help! Thank you for such a professional job. Your employee was on time, explained everything and answered questions, worked through the hottest day of the year and was an unobtrusive as possible since we were still "living" here and trying to function.
Sanding
Report
Dustless Hardwood Floor Refinishing requires large powerful vacuums to contain the dust from the sanding. There are always limitations to the effectiveness of any piece of equipment. When the floor is very uneven or when we are doing stairs, some dust does leak out with the small sanders because they have to be tilted to even out areas or remove finish.
Installation and Repair
Report
There are times when sanding or the current condition of your floor just can't be fixed. At Scotia Floor Care we have been industry trained to replace or install most hardwood. In the case of the above photo the client's floor was used as a sub floor and could not be salvaged. We installed and finished a new pine floor over it.
Staining
Report
The overall look of your hardwood floor is determined by your first coat because we are using a clear coat over top of the first coat. You can choose between an oil based or water based polyurethane coating. We often use the oil based sealer to match an existing floor that does not require refinish.
Coating
Report
We can discuss the final sheen after sanding is completed. We offer a variety of different products and looks. Gloss, semi-gloss, satin and matte for shine. Most people use satin. The sanding process we follow and products we use determine the number of coatings that go on a floor. Most times it is 3 coats, 1 sealer and 2 coats of finish.
