Burley Boys Tree Service commenced operation on Vancouver's North Shore in 1983, when it was founded by Lars Shearer, a veteran of the industry. Beginning operation as one man with a truck and a dream, the company quickly grew to where it now stands, employing over a dozen specialists including certified fallers, arborists, climbers, and other trained professionals dedicated to the task of keeping one of the most heavily treed and densely populated areas of Canada safe and beautiful.
In the fall of 2014, long-time managers of Burley Boys, Erik Helssen & Sean Wightman, became partners in the Company.Both Erik & Sean began at Burley Boys as teenagers, working their way up the ranks, from ground crew members, to climbers, arborists, and lastly, managers. In 2020 Lars retired, with Erik & Sean taking over full ownership of the Company.

A Certified Arborist is a specialist in the care of woody plants, primarily trees; but also including bushes, shrubs, vines, and other perennial woody plants used for landscaping or shade. A Certified Arborist's work is known as arboriculture. To become an ISA Certified Arborist you must successfully complete The ISA Certification exam.

Burley Boys Tree Service prides itself on having the right equipment necessary to complete the job. Whatever the job, we can handle it! Under some conditions a crane is required such as: Removing a tree where the surroundings are not to be disturbed, the tree is leaning at such an angle that it is impossible to fall safely, if the tree has fallen on a structure or other concerns that prohibit traditional climbing.
