After fifteen years of running home inspection franchises here in Halifax, I was thrilled to start Halifax Home Inspections Limited in 2011 in order to serve my valued customers directly from start to finish. The physical site inspection starts with a complete review of the exterior of the property; the foundation, siding, windows, roof, chimneys, decks etc. Every visible portion of the exterior of the house is reviewed. So long as inspector feels safe, the roof will be mounted for inspection too. Inside the home the inspection starts with a review of the mechanical systems; heating, plumbing, electrical etc.

Born and bred in Halifax, company founder Darren Smith started his home inspection career in 1995 when he returned back to Nova Scotia from Saint John N.B. and Dawson City, Yukon. Darren launched his career owning and operating home inspection franchises but transitioned into his own 100% locally owned company in 2011.
