Dr. Picardo graduated from the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Toronto. He has also completed his Masters Degree in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Picardo has been awarded for his achievements dental school in providing dental care to under-privileged or disabled individuals and continued this by working in public health after graduation.
