A routine part of an oral examination should be inspection not only of the teeth and gums but also of the soft tissues in and around the mouth. Oral cancer starts in the cells of the mouth. We use state-of-the-art digital X-ray(radiographs) system that enables us to take digital scan of the teeth to monitor for caries and other oral diseases not visible to the eye. How often dental X-rays should be taken depends on the patient's individual health needs. It is important to recognize that just as each patient is different from the next, so should the scheduling of Xray exams be individualized for each patient.

It is highly important that children or adults involved in sports wear a mouthguard.
