Originally from Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Dr. Hurlbert returned to BC after graduating from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry, in 1995. In 1997 he joined Maple Ridge Eye Care - Optometrists and assumed ownership of the practice shortly thereafter. Dr. Hurlbert attended the Omni Eye Center in Atlanta in 1994 where he worked alongside cataract, glaucoma and retinal surgeons in the treatment of advanced eye disease.

Hurlbert and his staff are just wonderful. Rita, Vivian and Vicky were all exceptional during our last visit and my two young daughters (first formal eye exams) and I all felt very comfortable and relaxed in the open and inviting office. The exam itself included top of the line technology coupled with detailed descriptions of each step of the exam.

We are proud to serve our community. As a longstanding optometrist group in Maple Ridge with over 60 years serving your eye care needs, we understand the importance of giving back to those who have supported us. Here are some of the initiatives we supported in the last year. Our optometry group has supported the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation with donations to their fundraising gala as far back as 2005.
