Your Go-To Destination for Fresh Baked Goods & Caf Favorites
Founded in 2011, Rocket Bakery & Fresh Foods was born from a shared passion for creativity, community, and culinary excellence. Our journey began when co-owners Kelly Mansell, Mark McGann, and Dave Hopley relocated from Toronto to St. Johns, drawn by Newfoundlands vibrant culture and commitment to family and community. With diverse backgrounds in public relations, film, and entrepreneurship, we combined our expertise to create a unique space where tradition meets innovation. Our menu reflects this philosophy, offering classic dishes with creative twistsfrom baked fish cakes to partridgeberry-infused sandwichescrafted daily using high-quality ingredients.

Over 15 years, weve built a reputation for lighthearted service, locally inspired design, and a dedication to making every customer feel at home. Our team of chefs, bakers, and baristas takes pride in delivering fresh pastries, gourmet coffee, and catering services that celebrate Newfoundlands spirit while meeting modern dietary needs. Today, with three locations across St. Johns and Mount Pearl, we remain committed to fostering community connections through food, art, and a playful approach to hospitality.

Wanted to take the time to tell you about a company to avoid working with: Rocket Food. My partner is an American who has been in the service and events industries for many many years (the sweetest and most charming person I've ever met). He was working as a staff member for one of their events (through another agency) and his supervisor received this feedback and some insults: that he was "aggressive, rude, and hostile" and that as an American, he's just not used to the proper politeness of British hospitality. The last thing he has ever been with anyone is hostile: in fact, the guest praised
