Indigenous Healing Programs for Anger, Grief, and Trauma
Biidaaban Healing Lodge was founded in response to the unique challenges faced by Indigenous communities in the Robinson-Superior Area during the early 1980s. Our organization specializes in culturally grounded healing programs addressing complex issues such as alcoholism, sexual abuse, unresolved anger, and grief. We operate a 12-unit residential facility on the shores of Lake Superior, providing both residential and community-based programming tailored to Indigenous populations. Our approach integrates traditional healing practices with modern therapeutic techniques, emphasizing the importance of family and community involvement in recovery. With over three decades of experience, we have developed specialized programs including Anger Solutions, Sexual Abuse Survivors, and Grief & Abandonment treatment. Our staff, many of whom come from First Nations backgrounds, maintain a strong commitment to personal healing and cultural preservation. We work collaboratively with Robinson-Superior Treaty Nations to ensure our services remain accessible and relevant to the communities we serve. Our facility offers aftercare support programs and mobile treatment options to extend our reach beyond the lodge. We believe in addressing the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of healing through our comprehensive programs. Our history of developing targeted interventions for secondary issues like compulsive overeating and family violence demonstrates our adaptability to evolving community needs.
