He expanded into General Insurance in 1953. His son (Jack) came into the business in 1980 and continued to expand the business with his father. Audy DesRoches started DesRoches Insurance as a General Insurance broker and life agent in 1947. When he retired in 1987 he sold his business to his son (Jamie) who operated on his own until 1996.
In 1994, DesRoches Insurance and Visser Insurance moved into our current office and worked side-by-side together in the business. Jamie DesRoches and Jack Visser had previously met at an Insurance convention in Arizona in 1987 where they became friends, and eventually business partners. In 1996 DesRoches & Visser Insurance amalgamated and became Desroches, Visser Insurance Brokers.
