Our Wifi coverage was expanded in 2011 and now covers the majority of the campground. A new antenna and equipment was installed that should provide medium to high signal strength for most of the park. Happy Land Campground has been owned and operated by the Altmann family for 53 years. We pride ourselves on running a clean, quiet, well-supervised park.

Campers who have previously experienced the quality of our park return time and time again to stay with us while in the Thunder Bay area. We are located on Hwy. 11/17, just 16 miles West of Thunder Bay and 1 1/2 miles East of Kakabeka Falls. The Village of Kakabeka Falls is only a half mile from our park.

We have well-kept, spacious, grassy sites with most having greenery providing privacy from your neighbours.

Thunder Bay's main attraction is Fort William Historical Park, the world's largest fur-trading post. It has been named as "One of the Top Ten Destinations in Canada". The Old Fort takes visitors back almost 200 years into the past, with ongoing historical reenactments. Most visitors spend a full day at the Fort in order to experience it all.

We'd been staying mostly at Provincial Parks and then, although Sleeping Giant came highly recommended, we instead opted to spend 3 nights at Happy Land and are so glad we did.
