Since acquiring the property in 2017, we've continued its 29-year legacy of Northern Ontario hospitality while implementing modern upgrades like a state-of-the-art diesel generator. Our off-grid location on Como Lake's pristine shores offers unparalleled access to outdoor adventures, with a commitment to preserving the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage. Cabin Rentals
Our fully equipped cabins sleep 1-11 guests with electric lighting, propane appliances, and private bathrooms. Each lakeside unit includes kitchen amenities, bedding, and a personal dock. Recent upgrades include 2024 Wi-Fi installation for guest convenience.
Guided Fishing
Professional guides lead excursions to prime fishing locations on Como Lake and surrounding waters. We specialize in lake trout, walleye, and northern pike fishing with equipment rentals and bait/tackle available on-site during peak seasons.
Campground Sites
Spacious drive-through RV sites with 15 amp electrical hookups and water access. Our modern facilities include flush toilets, private showers, and designated areas for tents and campers across from the main lodge.
Boat Rentals
Choose from canoe, kayak, or motorboat rentals for exploring Como Lake's 42km shoreline. Options include 8hp-9.9hp motors for fishing expeditions, with full-day and weekly rates available for independent lake navigation.
Wildlife Tours
Explore Chapleau Crown Game Preserve's biodiversity through guided wildlife observation tours. Guests may spot moose, black bears, loons, and other native species while learning about local conservation efforts and indigenous heritage.

What accommodations are available at Como Lake Resort?
We offer nine private cottages sleeping 1-11 guests and campground sites with 15 amp service. All cabins include kitchen amenities, propane heating, and lake views.
What outdoor activities does the resort provide?
Guests enjoy fishing for lake trout and walleye, ATV trails, guided hunting, canoe/kayak rentals, hiking, and wildlife photography in Chapleau Crown Game Preserve.
Are equipment rentals available on-site?
Yes, we rent boats (with/without motors), canoes, kayaks, and depth finders. Guided fishing services and equipment are also available for local lakes.
How do I access the resort?
From Chapleau: 45-minute drive south on Hwy 129/101. From Sault Ste. Marie: 4-hour drive via Hwy 17. Detailed directions available on our website.
What should I bring for my stay?
Pack towels, paper products, insect repellent, warm clothing, and valid fishing licenses. Life jackets and basic fishing gear are available on-site.

We had the most peaceful enjoyable stay at Como Lake and enjoyed the hospitality of John and Tracy. Our first night on the water we hit large walleye and had fresh fish every day of our stay. Early mornings, with loons calling, fog on the water, and the feeling of having this gorgeous wilderness to yourself was the perfect get away. John also guided us on two very exciting fishing nights where we caught exactly what we set out to catch (walleye, bass and pike). I look forward to returning to enjoy this perfectly serene and rustic place.

Stayed here for a night with a couple of buddies on a motorcycle trip. Normally you would have to rent for a week but they had a cabin open and allowed us to stay. Probably one of our best stops on our trip. Loved staying in a traditional cabin (with plumbing). Lake was beautiful and the owners were great hosts. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
