Mental Health & Housing Support in Vancouver
MPA Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing respectful, inclusive, and safe housing and person-centered programming for individuals facing mental health, substance use, and housing insecurity challenges. Founded in 1971 by individuals with lived experience of mental illness, we have grown to support over 1,000 people across 13 municipalities in the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD). Our 34 unique programs include advocacy, community resources, homeless outreach, and a continuum of housing solutions ranging from community-based to housing-first models. We are proud to be CARF-accredited for three years, reflecting our commitment to excellence in mental health services. Our MPArt Studio offers therapeutic art opportunities, while our Resource Centre provides social and recreational activities. We operate on the traditional and unceded territories of multiple First Nations, acknowledging their stewardship of the land. With over 300 staff members, we prioritize cultural health and safety, accountability, and community partnerships to empower individuals on their paths to healing and wellness.

Services
Supported Housing
Our Supported Housing programs provide safe, stable living environments with personalized support services for individuals facing mental health and housing challenges. We offer 24/7 staff availability, life skills training, and community integration assistance. This service helps residents maintain tenancy while working toward greater independence through tailored support plans.
Art Therapy
The MPArt Studio offers self-directed art therapy sessions that promote emotional expression and mental wellness through creative activities. Participants access professional-grade materials and exhibition opportunities while developing artistic skills. This therapeutic approach helps individuals process experiences, build confidence, and connect with others through shared creative experiences in a supportive environment.
Community Outreach
Our outreach teams actively engage with vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity across Greater Vancouver. We provide connection to housing resources, harm reduction supplies, and mental health support services. This proactive approach helps bridge gaps in service access while building trust with individuals who may be reluctant to seek traditional support.
