In your examination, Dr. Hsiung will assess the health of your eyes and determine if there are any issues related specifically to your eyes such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration or if signs/symptoms are present due to systemic problems such as diabetes, hypertension, MS. Your vision will be assessed to determine if corrective eyewear or contact lenses are necessary to obtain optimum clarity of vision.
Children's Exams

Every child should have an annual eye health and vision exam to ensure they are able to see the best that they can and to catch problems when they are easy to treat. The cost for this exam is covered under OHIP for children 19 years of age and under. Testing for younger children does not require the ability to read as there are other ways Dr. Hsiung can test their vision.
Low Vision Assessment and Optical Device Fitting

The vast majority of patients with low vision due to macular degeneration or other eye diseases can be helped to function with the use of an optical device. Even if you experience difficulty reading small print with your bi-focal lenses, you may benefit by using a low vision aid. Low vision aids are special lens systems designed to magnify or illuminate images to allow some increase in visual acuity.
Digital Retinal Photography

We are proud to offer this new technology which allows instant viewing of the retina and optic nerve in great detail. This technology combines retinal photography with computerized imaging to examine and document the internal structures of the eye. This allows Dr. Hsiung a way to detect abnormal conditions that can lead to vision loss.
