For years John and Karen vanderZalm knew they wanted to start their own Garden Centre. They knew there needed to be a place for gardeners to experience beauty, quality and great customer service in the Scugog area. John and Karen have worked in the greenhouse their whole lives, with a combined experience of 60 years in the greenhouse industry.
Both John and Karen knew that this would be a huge risk. Starting fresh and investing everything they had to start this business at 40 years of age. This was their new adventure. Fall of 2007, garden mums and decorative items were for sale by the road side before the greenhouses were even built. By Winter 2007, greenhouses were going up with the help of family and friends.

In this section of our website you will find just a small sampling of the many Plants and Products that we carry. My favourite greenhouse! They have the most beautiful flowers, and the staff are so friendly. Even my family came with me last week from Alliston and the quote was 'this makes Bradford Greenhouses look sad.' Love all my flowers and hanging baskets.
Spring

Spring is our favourite time in the greenhouse! We are finally open after a long, cold winter. At this time, we have been growing all winter and our greenhouse is FULL of plants, but it might be a little too early to put them out. We offer loads of "hardy" annuals that can withstand some frost. Bulbs, pansies, daisies, planters, dcor, soils, vegetables, herbs and so much more to kick off the planting season!

Now the warm weather is here to stay! Even though the spring planting rush is over, we still have so much to choose from because we are still growing to offer you a selection at this time of year. Fresh variety of plants are always available. Maybe you didn't have time to plant everything this spring?
Fall
Report
The days have started to cool down, the leaves are dropping and changing colour and we have beautiful sunny days. Don't "Fall" for it though, your gardening is not yet done. This is a great time to start to clean up our gardens, preparing for the winter to come. A lot of pest or diseases can harbour in your old plant debris so it's a good idea to clean everything up.
