Hand sanitizer from Wayward Distillery and nitrile gloves are provided at our reception desk for use by clients. A separate signing office has been set up in an otherwise unused portion of our building (with a separate entrance) to reduce contact between clients and staff. Sanitized and otherwise unused pens are provided at signing (and you get to take them home).

The signing area, door handles and payment terminals are all wiped with bleach between clients. Alternate arrangements can be made for signing of wills, powers of attorney, real estate transfers and mortgages during this difficult time. Let's work together to help raise the funds for two new affordable housing projects for Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North.

About Us
Report
We are a collection of old friends and bright young faces doing business in a new way - in an old house. So what does that mean? Know what you are going to pay. One of the fears and frustrations of dealing with many firms is billing based on time. People are afraid to call, fearing that they are going to be billed for talking on the phone.
Services
Report
Notaries Public in British Columbia practice law in very specific fields mandated by the BC Notaries Act. Essentially, we take affidavits, register documents with government registries and provide legal advice in our areas of practice, which are all non-contentious. That means that we do not get involved in civil, criminal or family law.
Wills
Report
A Will expresses your final wishes, including naming the person who will be responsible for following those wishes (your Executor or Trustee), naming the person who will be responsible for caring for your minor children (the Guardian), if any, the distribution of your assets after the payment of your debts and any funeral directions.
Power of Attorney
Report
A Power of Attorney is a legal appointment of another person to be able to act on your behalf. The power is limited to financial and legal documents. Decisions of a medical nature or about the kind of care you receive are handled by other means. There are many reasons to appoint an attorney to act on your behalf, such as if you are often away and need someone to sign documents for you while you are out of town.
In British Columbia, you have the ability to appoint someone to act on your behalf for legal and financial matters through a Power of Attorney. It does not give that person the power to make medical or care decisions for you.

An adult in British Columbia is always assumed to have ability to make their own care decisions and no medical practitioner in British Columbia may perform any procedure or care routine without your consent (emergency situations can imply consent). So what happens if you are not able to give consent, either because you are unconscious or not mentally capable?
