S.M.A. Karate CANADA was established in 1998 and is owned and operated by Shihan Robert Patry. The Kingston location is the Honbu (headquarters) for S.M.A. Karate CANADA. S.M.A. Karate CANADA is a traditional martial art school offering three different but complementary systems of Karate. We offer students the possibility to participate in one or many or our training, teaching, competitive or coaching streams.
S.M.A. Karate CANADA and all students are registered with the Ontario Karate Federation (OKF). We are dedicated to provide excellent martial arts training and to foster lasting growth with our students, families and communities of S.M.A. Karate CANADA. We are dedicated to the development of the best qualities in our instructors and the growth of their teaching skills and abilities.

S.M.A. Karate CANADA offers three different systems of martial arts - Shotokan, Gj-ry, and Wing Chun Kung Fu. Shotokan and Gj-ry styles of karate are of Japanese origin and are two of the most recognized styles of Karate worldwide. Wing Chun Kung Fu is a Chinese boxing system that is widely known because of Bruce Lee.
