Even from a real estate perspective the Cowichan Valley is pretty amazing. Duncan is about 45 mins to Victoria and 40 mins to Nanaimo. Even with its proximity to our province's capital city, the real estate prices here are considerably lower than in Victoria. Many people buy homes up this way and commute for work simply because they can get so much more for their dollar here.

Experiencing considerable growth in recent years, Duncan is a great community to call home. In 2008 & 2009 several big box stores went up in the North part of town and a bunch of reconstructing and building took place in the center of Duncan. The Vancouver Island University campus is located just off the highway, our Cowichan Aquatic Centre and Cowichan Community Centre are close by.

Surrounded by mountains and situated on the calm waters of Osborne Bay, Crofton is a friendly forestry community that is centrally located between Victoria and Nanaimo. Crofton offers car and passenger ferries to Vesuvius Bay on Saltspring Island. Golfers can choose from a few golf courses in the area, Cowichan Golf and Country Club, Duncan Meadows Golf Course & Mount Brenton which is right in Chemainus.
