A-1 Driving School has been providing quality driver education since 1978, and we have grown to employ seven driving instructors. We provide advanced, corporate, and paramedic driver training throughout Ontario and operate beginner driver courses in three classroom locations - North Bay, West Nipissing (Sturgeon Falls), and Sundridge.

In addition to our Ministry-approved Beginner Driver Education Online and In-class Courses, we continue to offer a variety of driver education services for EMS personnel, seniors, international and corporate drivers that promote defensive driving and road safety. Our classrooms are large, clean, and air-conditioned, which helps facilitate learning.

We are one of Northeastern Ontario's largest driving schools. Our 40-hour Beginner Driver Education Courses are taught by RSEA and OSL certified instructors and include 20 hours of in-class, 10 hours of in-car driving, and 10 hours of home exercises. A-1 Driving School Ltd. is a Ministry-Approved Beginner Driver Education Course Provider.

Beyond Basics Course DCA4

The Beyond Basics DCA4 driver training program is an advanced in-vehicle program for the experienced driver. Beyond Basics is an on-road coaching session. Individuals are less threatened by this type of process and are provided with ample opportunity to demonstrate their safe driving abilities.
During the 90-minute session, the driver trainer will evaluate the driver's risk perception and risk management as well as the driver's application of defensive and co-operative driving techniques.DCA4 can include a DCA2 when requested at an additional cost. Moving beyond basic defensive driving principles; our program deals with the reality of driver inattention.
