Our philosophy is simple, to serve flavorful, unique food in a welcoming environment with relaxed, professional service. B.C. residents are required to present their vaccine passport QR code for scanning and matching government photo I.D.
Take out options will be available from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm Thursday to Sunday with pick up in the staff parking area. Other times will occasionally be available on a day to day basis.

The Mahle House is a second generation establishment which has become a favorite for locals and tourists alike. It was established in 1983 by Chef Maureen Loucks and Delbert Horrocks (Tara's mother and uncle respectively). Located in the farming community of Cedar, ten minutes south of Nanaimo, The Mahle House is situated in a restored 1904 Heritage home on a one-acre property featuring an English-style ornamental garden.

We understand that many people are presently uncomfortable with dining out. We offer our take out menu at a reduced price in the hope that our guests can enjoy our creations in the comfort of their homes more often. We thank you for supporting local businesses and helping to keep your community working.
Adventurous Wednesdays

Every Wednesday at the Mahle House we offer our "Adventurous Wednesday" multi-course menu. Diners in groups of four or fewer will receive different items for each course (some duplication of items will occur with groups larger than four). We suggest calling for reservations. Please note that Wednesday evening is devoted exclusively to our five course Chef's menu - our regular menu is not available.
Our Farm

To provide our guests with the freshest organic ingredients, we are fortunate to have our own organic farm raising fruits, vegetables and herbs. The beginning of each planting season also gets the creative juices flowing with one or two experimental crops. What we can't grow or if we do not produce enough, we proudly purchase from like-minded local farms.

At the moment we are offering pick-up orders only for all our online products with the exception of our Gift Certificates for dining in-house. These are available for shipping. All other shop items are pickup at the restaurant. Once we receive your order we will contact you regarding pickup times and procedures.
