At Westshore Dance Studios (WDS), our goal is to provide training and development for all who have a desire to dance. As a professional dance school, Westshore Dance Studios offers quality instruction to students of varying ages and ability in a friendly and respectful environment.
We offer diversity in dance styles, and provide examinations in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) for ballet, and the Association of International Dance Teachers (AIDT) for modern jazz and tap.Students have opportunities to perform in our annual recital and local festivals to demonstrate their dance knowledge, skill, and artistic expression.

Ballet
Report
Ballet is the foundation for all forms of dance because it allows opportunities for students to develop grace, poise, and musicality. The Royal Academy of Dance syllabus is used as the basis for all classes. RAD provides professional instruction focusing on classical, free movement, and character styles.
Tap
Report
Tap classes are based on the Association of International Dance Teachers syllabus. Founded in South Africa, the emphasis of this syllabus is on timing, rhythm and musicality. Students are placed according to age and ability. Opportunities to participate in formal exams are at the discretion of the teacher.
Exams & Performances

WDS is proud to be registered with the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D. ballet) and the Association of International Dance Teachers (A.I.D.T. modern jazz and tap). Both associations offer accredited examination programs. We encourage dancers to begin the examination process as soon as our instructors believe the student is ready.

Janine's dance training began at age three with RAD ballet and also AIDT modern and tap. She later branched out into jazz, hip hop and musical theatre. After going through the examination process she became eligible to begin the teaching programs in ballet, modern and tap, and now has her Associate in Modern and Full Advanced Associate in Tap.
