I grind my own beans daily for manual espresso. I was looking for freshly roasted beans for optimum results. The roaster (employee) was unable to tell me when the beans had been roasted. There's no 'roast date' on the bags! Generally, this is the advantage of local roasters over other brands. Tell me the date, allow me to let it off-gas the appropriate number of days, package it in a C02 releasing bag, and give me consistency. I didn't get any of these choices. I tried three varieties, and each resulted in a poor end-product I would normally attribute to older, stale roasted beans. At $17-$19

We tried lots of coffee roasters and Down east has by far the best coffee. Zydeco and Lescarbot are by far me and my fiancé favorite flavours. I recommend anyone looking for local roasted coffee beans to give them a try.

Down East Coffee is absolutely amazing! I have enjoyed different roasts and they are all unique and taste wonderful! Recently I can only drink decaf because of migraines, and I was amazed at how tasty the decaf is! We order in BC regularly and only use Down East coffee now as it is the best 😊
