Organic coffees and tasty teas combined with fresh baking daily make Summerland's Beanery Caf the choice for locals and out of town visitors. The Beanery is a welcoming caf, with a Euro feel to it. Not surprising since the owners are Dutch, and caf chairs and some of the interior decorations were brought from Holland.

The Beanery patio is great for people watching and good conversation and where you are welcome to bring along your well-behaved dog! For years, Ashley and Braden were looking to move to the Okanagan with their young child, Clavier. Beautiful views, friendly community and being closer to family were the main priorities for this young family. Ashley, who is Armenian, and loves to cook and bake, knew that this local favourite spot, The Beanery Cafe, would be the perfect fit.

Marijke is a striking and elegantly poised woman, and as one might suspect has led an interesting life which includes jet setting about the world to exotic locales. In the 70's Marijke worked for a short time at KLM Airlines, where she met and ended up marrying her boss Chris. The pair moved to St Maartens, then went to Bangladesh.
