Don Crole started the company in 1975 and initially worked as an installer and chimney sweep in Dufferin County and surrounding area. When joining the start up Company Wood Energy Technical Training (WETT) to facilitate inspections for solid fuel burning appliances and their compliance to the B365 section of the Ontario Building Code for real estate and insurance companies we expanded into Erin Palgrave and Caledon.
In 1998 we were happy to welcome our nephew Jason Crole to the company. Chimney sweeps are required to be registered and need to be certified to do WETT inspections threw courses offered and require regular updates to remain certified. In 2010 Don retired from active chimney cleaning but still keeps his hand in doing sales estimates and inspections.

Services
We believe wood as a heating fuel is environmentally appropriate and economically beneficial. A fireplace or wood burning stove is warm and cozy on a cold winter evening but can soon become a frighting experience with a chimney fire! We sometimes forget why our forfathers changed to central heating systems.

FAQ's
Report
Why does my fireplace smoke back into the room or my wood stove smoke back when I open the door? The most logical explanation is negative air pressure or what is sometimes professionally called the stack effect. You can do this by using quality well seasoned wood and following suggestions available.
Knowledge
Report
For high efficiency appliances, that can maintain a very slow burning fire, try to have a good rip roaring fire regularly to prevent the continual creation of creosote. If you use your wood burning appliance regularly it is important to have your chimney inspected and cleaned regularly by a qualified and certified chimney sweep.
Fire Building
Report
Up to half the weight of freshly cut logs is water. After proper seasoning only about 20% of the weight is water. As the wood is heated in the firebox, this water boils off, consuming heat energy in the process. The wetter the wood the more heat energy is consumed That is why wet wood hisses and sizzles while dry wood ignites and burns easily.
