Notarization
Report
A Notary Public is a person appointed by a Provincial Government. The primary role of a Notary Public is to serve as a witness when important documents are being signed. Such signatures must be done in person and the Notary Public will attest that they witnessed the signature by signing the document and affixing their seal.
True Copy Certification
Report
When you have important documents that need to be used in support of applications or business activities you should always keep the originals and use certified and notarized copies. A Notary Public can notarize or certify a copy of a document as a true and accurate copy of the original document. In order to certify a document as a true copy, I need to examine the original document and compare it to the copy.
Consent to Travel Letters
Report
The Canadian Government strongly recommends that children who will be travelling alone, with a group or with only one custodial parent do so with a consent letter from the non-accompanying parent. In other words, if you have shared custody of your child you should travel with a letter proving you have the permission of the other parent or custodian to take that child outside Canada.
Statutory Declarations
Report
A Notary Public or a Commissioner for Oaths and Affidavits is a person authorized to take your oath or solemn affirmation when you sign an affidavit or a statutory declaration. The Notary or Commissioner does not certify that the statements being made in the affidavit or statutory declaration are true, but only certifies that an oath or solemn affirmation has been administered properly.
