The immunizations provided at Victoria's Nova Travel and Immunization clinic vary depending on: Type of travel, previous immunization/medical history and length of trip. You should consider booking an appointment with a travel health provider a minimum of 4-6 weeks prior to departure to determine whether you require any vaccinations or prescriptions prior to your trip.
Fees

Preventative travel immunizations and counseling costs are not covered by the Medical Services Plan (MSP). Therefore a clinic fee is charged for a 30 minute consultation and immunization appointment with our staff. Consultations for complex or multiple people (same trip) are booked for longer than 30 minutes and fees will vary.
Hepatitis A
Report
Hepatitis A is spread through consumption of contaminated food, (especially avoid raw shellfish) and/or drinking contaminated water; it can also be transmitted from person to person and through blood. Hepatitis A virus is most common in developing countries such as Mexico, Central or South America, Asia, Africa and India; 85 % of travel related cases were associated with travel to such places.
Rabies
Report
Rabies is an infection of the brain caused by a virus that is spread to humans through the bite or scratch of an infected animal. If left untreated, rabies is fatal. The most common infection is through the bite of an infected dog. Rabies results in tens of thousands of human deaths each year. Symptoms can take 3-8 weeks to appear and include : headache, fever, difficulty swallowing, excessive drooling, muscle spasms and strange behavior.
Tetanus

Tetanus (also known as lockjaw) is a disease caused by bacteria that lives in dust and dirt. It is commonly transmitted through injuries via any cut that is contaminated with dirt, feces, saliva, deep wounds, burns, and injuries due to crushing. Tetanus symptoms are very painful and consist of spasms of the muscles of the jaw, and other areas which cause those areas to " lock".
