Have been taking my pets to Birchwood Animal Hospital for fifteen years. The Vets and staff at Birchwood are outstanding. They are compassionate and always take time to answer all of my questions. I have been through serious health crisis with some of my pets over the years and Dr. Robertson has always been compassionate and truthful even when the news was difficult.
Her honest advise helped me make some of the best decisions for my pet even though it was difficult and painful. I have also had Dr. Preston take care of my pets and she has also been wonderful. Birchwood Animal Hospital is the oldest small animal practice in west Winnipeg and the second oldest in the province. It was founded in 1959 by Dr. Elmer Clark, who retired in 1994. Dr. Philipp Schott joined the practice in 1990, followed by Dr. Andrea Robertson in 2000, Dr. Jillian Preston in 2002, Dr. Brad Safiniuk in 2004, Dr. Leanne Boyd in 2007, Dr. Stacey Hannah in 2012, and Dr. Melissa Cavanagh in 2021.

3. Should your pet require hospitalization, you will be provided with an estimate and consent for medical services which will require your signature for approval. If additional medical care is recommended, we will inform you of associated costs prior to performing such services. 4. Pet insurance policy holders will be reimbursed by the insurance company after submitting a claim form for paid services.
