At Maple Dental Hygiene Care, our fees for services are determined according to the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association Suggested Fee Guide. In general, the fees for services provided by a registered dental hygienist in independent practice are usually 10 - 30% less than similar services provided by a registered dental hygienist at a dental office.
Office / Financial Policy
Report
At Maple Dental Hygiene Care, I take pride in the excellent quality of care and commitment I give my clients. As a result, all clients are scheduled with the appropriate amount of time needed to provide thorough and complete individualized treatment and care. The time reserved for a client's appointment is valuable.
Examinations
Report
At every dental cleaning appointment, a thorough head and neck exam is performed prior to the beginning of the dental scaling. The purpose of the head and neck exam is to screen for any abnormalities of the head, neck, lymph nodes, skin, and Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ). The exam is performed by gently feeling the tissues around the head, neck, lymph nodes, skin, and temporal mandibular joint.
Treatment of Gum Disease
Report
Gum disease is one of the most common dental problems. It affects 3 out of 4 people over the age of 35 and is the most common cause of tooth loss. Gum disease often develops slowly, without causing any pain in the very beginning. Sometimes you may not notice any sign of gum disease until it is serious and bone loss has begun to occur.
Treatment of Bad Breath
Report
Halitosis is the medical term used for bad breath. Most cases of bad breath in healthy individuals are related to oral hygiene care. Bad breath is usually worse upon awakening because the mouth is exposed to less oxygen and saliva during the night. Bad breath often may be brief, disappearing after eating, brushing, and rinsing with a specialized mouthwash.
