Osteoarthritis is the most common form and is caused by wear and tear on the cartilage.

Bursitis, Tendonitis & Epicondylites Golfer's and Tennis Elbow

Bursitis commonly occurs in the shoulder, elbow or knees and is a result of inflammation of the fluids in those areas of the body. It is usually caused by repetitive movements. Epicondylitis, better known as golfer's or tennis elbow is the inflammation of the tendons that are attached to the elbow.

Intercostal Pain

Intercostal pain (nerve pain around the ribs) occurs when the nerves that run along the side of the ribs become inflamed. The pain appears abruptly and can worsen with movement, incorrect posture, breathing, coughing, or even just walking. Although pain medication may help you cope, this nerve pain is generally due to problems that cannot be treated with medication.

Low Back Pain

Low back pain is frequently caused by slack abdominal muscles, when one or more of the bones in your spine moves out of position, poor posture, pregnancy, bone or joint disease, cancer, arthritis, stress or specific working conditions. Dr. Elder will treat low back pain by relieving your muscle spasms and improving the nerve supply and blood circulation to the affected area.

Migraines and headaches have different causes including dilation of the blood vessels, muscle spasms in the scalp, irritation or inflammation of the membranes that cover the brain, irritation or tension of the sensory nerves, or increased pressure in the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord.
