Checkups & Cleanings
Report
The dental team at Saskatoon Dental Group suggests you have a full checkup every 6 months. That yearly checkup involves an inspection of your mouth and may entail X-rays as well. We also suggest that if possible, you come see us every 6 months for a cleaning appointment. This allows us to keep your teeth and gums safe from plaque and bacteria that can harm your teeth.
Restorations
Report
A filling is required when you have a cavity on a tooth. A white or composite filling (used more commonly now than metal fillings) is used when the cavity is small enough that the majority of the tooth is still undamaged. A crown is when the tooth is too damaged for a filling but also doesn't need to be fully extracted.
Pediatric Dentistry
Report
Bringing your child to their first dentist appointment is suggested about 6 months after their first tooth starts peeking through their gums. This gets them used to and comfortable with seeing the dentist regularly from a young age. A big part of those initial dental visits with your young child is that it allows your dental team to inspect their mouth, ensuring that everything looks as expected.
