Dental Care
Our veterinary dental services address periodontal disease through professional cleanings, digital radiography, and oral surgery. We emphasize preventive care with home treatment plans while treating advanced conditions like tooth extractions and gum infections. Our team uses specialized equipment for both routine maintenance and complex dental procedures.
Emergency Services
Available 24/7 through our cooperative agreement with Central Nova Animal Hospital, our emergency services handle critical conditions like trauma, poisoning, and acute illnesses. Trained staff provide immediate stabilization while maintaining communication with primary care veterinarians for continuity of treatment.
Laser Therapy
This non-invasive treatment accelerates healing through photo-bio-modulation, reducing inflammation and pain without medication. We use it for chronic conditions like arthritis, post-surgical recovery, and wound healing while improving nerve function and tissue regeneration through targeted light energy applications.
Diagnostics
Our in-house laboratory processes bloodwork, urinalysis, and cytology within minutes while digital radiography provides immediate imaging for internal assessments. Advanced diagnostics include ultrasound referrals and specialized testing for endocrine disorders, infections, and organ function evaluation.
Low Stress Handling
Certified staff implement behavior science techniques to minimize anxiety during veterinary visits. This includes specialized restraint methods, environmental modifications, and pheromone therapy to create positive experiences for anxious pets while improving safety for both animals and handlers.

Dr Gwen and her team came to our rescue when my older dog became sick suddenly while we were on vacation. It was late afternoon and he wasnt their patient, but they cheerfully agreed to see him. They immediately put us in a comfortable room with a soft blanket on the floor for him and Dr. Gwen saw him within a minute of arrival. She was very thorough and caring and all the staff were kind. She was able to get him feeling better; what a relief! I am so incredibly grateful for their help.

I would like to take the time to thank the truro veterinary hospital for all the wonderful help during our hard times. We had to make the horrible decision to uthanize our little beloved kitty Henry Jacob due to a spinal issue at the young age of only 10 months it was hard but with the help and heartfelt caring words we were able to make that unselfish decision. Not only were they caring but also sent us some of his fur, 2 paw prints, a beautiful poem and a wrote out sympathy card signed by the staff, as well as my favorite thing which was a donation to help homeless kitties that need help. This place is amazing. The staff are wonderful, very accommodating and attentive to the animals. They clearly love what they do and have always taken amazing care of my kitties when I take them here. When my cat Tobi died, they were very empathetic. We got a sympathy card. Their prices are a little higher than a few other vets I've been to, but the way the vets and technicians handle my pets makes it worth it. They even call after appointments to check up on animals. I love them. I will never use another vet clinic for as long as I live in Truro.
