Gordon Black, Founder of Logs End Inc., was born and raised in Shawville QC. While he left home at a young age to pursue a hockey career as a goalie, he later went on to become a Master Electrician and founded his own company, Black Electric.
Gord would eventually begin scuba diving as a hobby and developed a keen interest in Ottawa's logging history when he began to encounter an abundance of logs left over from the logging era sunken on the bottom of the Ottawa River. What started as a personal passion became what Logs End Inc. is today.

Services
Logs End is a hardwood flooring company with a difference. Instead of only cutting down new-growth trees, we focus on retrieving "lost" timber from the heyday of 19th-century Ottawa Valley logging operations. Many of our logs are recovered through diving operations on the Ottawa River, its tributaries and small lakes.

Properly installed, a Logs End floor will be last for the life of your home - and bring you a lifetime of enjoyment. It is important to assess your site prior to installation of a solid wood wide plank floor. Longer periods may be required for dryer areas.
Atmospheric conditions cause all wood to expand and contract to a certain degree; acclimating the flooring before installation allows the moisture content of the wood to align with the site's "normal living conditions" at the site.To minimize movement, relative humidity should be maintained at 40-55%, year round.
