IATSE Local 58
Whether mixing a live band or placing microphones on talent, count on our audio technicians to amplify whatever needs to be heard. From hanging lights to operating the latest lighting board consoles and spotlights, our members have the skills and expertise to make your show shine. We provide crew - whether large or small - to staff concerts, sporting events, trade shows, theatres, and entertainment venues across Toronto.

Our riggers know how to hang everything safely and securely, whether it's hundreds - or thousands - of pounds of equipment flown overhead. Our carpenters take designs from the page to the stage. With specialists in welding, automation, and special effects, we build everything - even the stage.

Toronto Theatre In The 19th Century
Report
No form of art or entertainment is so ephemeral as a live performance. This is as true today with all the technology at our command as it was in the distant past. When the curtain comes down on a performance, the moment has passed forever. For the artists involved there is at least the passing mention in a review or the billing on a poster to remind us of their place in history.
Memorialis
Report
John's early exposure to the "theatre business" through his father, Harry, a long-time President of IATSE Local 58, led to summer jobs and eventually an apprenticeship as a stagehand. These experiences informed John's passion for theatre and lighting design and his practice expanded to include the design of both stages and stage lighting systems at venues such as the O'Keefe Centre and the CNE Grandstand.
