At Card's Bakery, we take pride in crafting baked goods using premium ingredients without additives or preservatives, adhering to traditional, scratch-made methods. Our legacy began in the late 1960s when Edith Card started selling homemade bread from her rural Kingston kitchen, quickly gaining popularity for her weekend sticky buns and pies. In 1987, Edith's daughter Norma expanded the business to Downtown Kingston, maintaining its reputation until a fire in 2005 necessitated rebuilding. As the third generation, I relocated the bakery to a larger space on Bagot Street, joined by my sister Krista, a skilled cake decorator. Today, we operate from our dream location on Princess Street, continuing our family's commitment to quality and tradition.Our bakery offers a wide range of products, including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and seasonal specialties, with options for dietary restrictions. We prioritize in-store shopping to maintain product quality and customer service excellence, despite industry challenges like staffing shortages. We're open Monday 9am-4pm, Tuesday-Thursday 8am-5:30pm, Friday 8am-5:30pm, Saturday 9am-5:30pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm.
Do you offer delivery services?
Yes, we deliver to downtown addresses for a $10 fee Monday-Saturday. Orders must be placed two days in advance with pickup at noon.
Are there dietary-friendly options?
We offer gluten-free, vegan, and sugar-free baked goods daily. Check our menu for specific options available each visit.

Card's Bakery is my first stop whenever I plan a gathering or event. Regardless of whether I am picking up a few cookies, a pie, a half dozen scones or 72 cupcakes, the service is welcoming, helpful and efficient in a lovely shop with lots of great gift ideas. Oh, and their cakes consistently exceed expectations and bring a "wow" factor to milestone events. Guests of honour are often hesitant to cut into a cake because of its beauty, but when they do, they enjoy every delicious bite! I definitely recommend bringing a little of Card's into your life experience - you will not be disappointed!

The person who answers the phone is so rude and unhelpful!!! The owner should start calling randomly to place orders because you would soon find out how awful the experience is. Ive now had two very bad experiences trying to order baked goods from here over the phone. So sad because their baked goods are delicious! I truly dont want to go through the experience of trying to order from there again though, will be taking my business elsewhere.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place. They have the yummiest treats and an amazing lunch! Whenever I am looking to buy baked goods, whether it be for myself or an event, Card's Bakery is my go-to place. They also have the cutest little gifts. The staff is super friendly! I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Very yummy pastries and baked goods. I especially liked their little pumpkin pie. They also sell all kinds of kitchen supplies, really neat table wear, and very special gift ideas. Just a wonderful place to walk through, enjoy and get inspired!

For THANKSGIVING, I ordered in week in advance an apple crumble, a pumpkin pie and a box of brownies. I was supposed to pick them up on Sunday and they called me last minute saying you have to pick up on Saturday. (mistake 1. that's fine! I'll figure something out). I get there and they have an apple pie instead of the apple crumble. WHAT IS THE POINT OF ORDERING?? Very unapologetically, they look me in the eye and say: we did not get to it and we don't have any. What is the point of ordering. I would have walked out right away but it is thanksgiving and I doubt I could find the deserts anywhere
