For 19 years, the Dr. Tom Honey / Garibaldi Veterinary Hospital Award is an annual bursary given to the student who achieves the highest proficiency in Life Sciences and in extracurricular activities at Howe Sound Secondary School in Squamish.

Preventive care is the cornerstone of our mission, as it can substantially improve & extend the life of your pet. An annual wellness is essential to maintaining your pet's overall health. Pets age faster than people, and are often very good at hiding signs of illness.
Unfortunately our pets cannot talk, so we rely on clinical signs, a physical exam, and in some cases, diagnostic tests, for early detection and successful treatment of serious diseases.The annual wellness exam is also an excellent opportunity to discuss questions you may have about your pet's diet or behaviour.

Proper teeth cleaning requires complete cooperation of the patient so plaque and tartar can be removed properly. Anesthesia is required to thoroughly clean the teeth. Although anesthesia always carries a degree of risk, the modern anesthetic protocols used in our hospital minimize this risk, even for older pets.
