My name is Darick Holler; I am a home inspector in Powell River, B.C. and my passion is helping people by inspecting homes and commercial buildings in my home town and the surrounding area. I've been in thousands of homes in the last 10 years, fitting into tight attics, crawlspaces and places no one else wants to see.
I love my job and believe it is a crucial service that I provide. My background is construction and as a previous contractor I can explain to my clients everything from major deficiencies to minor repairs as well as potential insurance obstacles. The ultimate goal is to equip buyers with knowledge of their potential home, so they can budget for some of the upcoming costs.

A house came up on the market that I was interested in but I had to act quickly; Darick managed to come at the final hour. I received an extremely professional report, which I was able to use for immediate and future projects. I would highly recommend his services. Asbestos Testing
Report
Asbestos fibers are soft and flexible yet resistant to heat, electricity and corrosion. Asbestos was used in buildings before 1990 because it was fire resistant and an effective insulator. At the time, Canadians didn't know that it could be toxic when airborne, because the fibers become trapped in the body, and can cause asbestosis or mesothelioma.
Mould Testing
Report
Health Canada considers indoor mould growth to be a significant health hazard. Mould is the common term used for fungi growing in homes or commercial buildings. This fungi is caused by excess humidity that is not being properly ventilated, often present due to moisture in basements or ground floors or excess rain seeping in due to damaged roofing or window frames.
Air Monitoring
Report
During a renovation or demolition, inhabitants and workers can be exposed to hazardous fibers which can cause potentially life threatening illnesses. Air monitoring is an important method of monitoring exposure to these potential hazards. The airborne contaminants are measured and compared against the volume of air, and the results are stated as a concentration.
