Lumina/Eye Care

Dr. Maggie Fung and Dr. Joanna Yu are classmates and both graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry & Vision Science in 2011. We are passionate about optometry and it has been our aspiration to open a practice to serve the community and provide personal and quality eye care. In addition, we enjoy providing vision health care for those in need.

Dr. Joanna Yu began her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo and obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Science. She continued her education at the university and graduated from their School of Optometry & Vision Science. Dr. Yu completed her externship in ocular disease and therapeutics at the OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Amy Chow completed her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy by conducting research at the School of Optometry & Vision Science. She obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, St. George campus studying neuroscience and physiology.

Dr. Merene Wong is a certified optometrist by the College of Optometrists of Ontario. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree with Dean's Honours from the University of Waterloo in 2008. She completed her clinical education at OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, where she received extensive training and gained immense knowledge in the care and management of patients with retinal diseases, cataracts, glaucoma, and corneal conditions.

Chia Yee is excited to join the Lumina Eye Care Team. She completed her Optician program at Seneca College in 2014 and has over 5 years of experience in the optical industry. With her vast knowledge and experience, Chia Yee strives to provide excellent patient care. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and traveling around the world.
